When we moved in, there were still old photographs of the prop planes on the line. It was an active AF Base at that time. there were ordinance bunkers as well. You know I did my share of exploring as there were two F14 Crashes there. It was also an alternate site for shuttle landings as it had a long strip, but it's in disrepair right now. we would sit up in the tower and have a brew and watch the whitetails, turkeys, red fox, harriers, ospreys,kestrals and long eared owls (which are endangered).
I love my new life but I must say I miss it.

Yea.. that kind of thing is great.. we used to explore all the old bunkers up around Elmendorf in Anchorage..they were left from the war years..

I understand.........I was questioned by the Secret Service for getting too clost to the Capitol Building at night. Tried to explain that I was there to shoot the moonrise, but didn't know I needed a permit.
